SKA Belt Under Slats

Fitted beneath the slats in free range laying, barn egg or breeder parent stock houses, polypropylene belts are an easy and very efficient method of regularly cleaning out the droppings pits and depositing the manure into a trailer or store outside, at the opposite end of the building to the egg packing and service area, via another conveyor across the shed.
The belts are in one or more section each up to 1.80 metres wide and carried by sturdy galvanized and stainless steel structures that are easy to assemble, and which also support the SKA 'Aries' or 'Orion' polypropylene slats, which in the case of commercial layers, can be lower at the 'scratching' area end than is often the case
The structures are very versatile, and can be used with all the versions of SKA 'Avio' automatic nests, double sided, single sided, with 300mm or 500mm wide collection belts, with 'Avio-S' nests which have slats and belt on top and in conventional static or in mobile houses.
The belts are powered by drive units with motors to suit the length of the particular building. Regulation of the belt tension is by simple adjustment screws.
SKA have used their many years of experience in designing and building manure conveyor systems to produce an easy to maintain method of managing an important aspect of alternative types of egg production, without the need for deep pit type buildings.
The operation can be started and stopped automatically, controlled by a timeswitch or turned on and off by hand once or twice a week.
The much reduced amount of droppings stored inside the house has an important advantages of significantly lowering ammonia levels, improving the atmosphere and the health of the flock, and saving a lot of time and energy at the end of each laying period.
•Belts are fitted under the slats, and the enviroment inside the house is improved by increased efficiency and easier management.
•Various sizes possible from 2 to 6 slats wide, to suit your requirements.
•Possible to convey all of the droppings to one place, once or twice a week.
•Significant cost and labour saving when cleaning out between flocks.
