These single tier, central 500mm wide belt automatic nests are made from high quality multiply wooden panels, with galvanized steel roof apex sections, and with large hole Astroturf mats on galvanized wire mesh sloping floors.
The nests are constructed in 2.40 metre long modules, each divided into four compartments, two either side of the collecting belt.
Each compartment is 1.18 metres long, with an internal galvanized rod, hinged door which, when activated by the control panel, moves slowly and in short steps with adjustable length intervals between each, to close off the nests and gently push any bird reluctant to leave, out onto the slats, and remains closed until the timeswitch activates the system again early the next morning before birds start laying again.
Eggs are conveyed on the variable speed perforated polypropylene belt to the service and packing area at the end of the house, and put onto trays by hand, or transferred to a cross conveyor and taken to a separate building or area.
The nest compartments are either 430mm (Zeus-500) or 530mm (Zeus-D 500) deep, giving flexibility to match the required nest space to the width of the building.
To complement the nests, they are often supplied in combination with SKA 'Aries' or 'Orion' polypropylene slats, 'Convoy' egg conveyor, automatic feeders for females and males, feed augers, nipple or 'bell' drinker and other products.
